Goulu, Sebastian - portrait of Captain Schiafino
This miniature portrait has been attributed to Sebastian Goulu (1796-?). The sitter is identified on the reverse as "Capitan Jove Schiafino". His name is believed to be Captain J B Schiafino of South America. 834
The term "historical detective" may sound a little strange, but is the easiest way to express the intent of this research.
Seeking information to expand historical knowledge and finding, surprisingly often, "conventional wisdom" needs revision
